We've been having cable problems lately (OMG, what do you mean Noggin doesn't come in any more?! How am I supposed to distract Owen while I take a shower?!)...today the repairpersons came by to fix it up. I spent the entirety of the day cleaning (vacuuming under furniture, cleaning toilets, wiping down cabinets, the works) until they showed up.
'We're going to have to go into the basement.'
(Oh holy crap, really? The place is an unmitigated disaster! Fine, fine.)
'Looks like this cable line goes upstairs into that third bedroom, can we check it out?'
(Ok...well, the office is pretty clea-oh you're going into the office closet! Oh, good. The organized one-oh, you need to go into the other one, the one I shove all the other stuff in? Crap.)
'It seems like this line goes into the attic crawlspace...how do we get into that?'
(Well. Fantastic. That would be through our tiny bedroom closet. Thaaaat's it...just crawl over the five-foot pile of laundry. Yep. Enjoy.)
'We need to check one more place it could be...how do we access the crawlspace above the garage?'
(Shoot me now.)
Moral of the story: It doesn't matter how sparkling your home is, they will find your weakness.
